Organization San Diego Natural History Museum

The San Diego Natural History Museum is dedicated to providing quality science education to students in our community. We offer nearly 30 different school programs for Pre-K through 8th grades based on natural history themes and California state standards. Our focus is on earth and life sciences with programs like “read a rock”, “incredible insects” and the overwhelmingly popular “Autumn Harvest”, instructed by museum trained Docents and professional educators.

After School Program at Chula Vista High School

ZU2U brings professional animal handlers to CVHS to present exotic reptiles and arthropods to students. Students choose their favorite animal and receive further training to present their animals at the SDFSE and middle schools in the Sweetwater Union High School District.

Spring Camp

SWE Exploring Technology Workshop (SWEET)

Technology Workshop (SWEET) is an annual collaboration with San Diego Girl Scouts Imperial Council that provides an incredible day full of engineering-related activities for nearly 200 5th to 8th grade girls. Attendees participate in challenging and creative engineering activities that demonstrated the fun and excitement of engineering careers. Girls that participate not only benefit from the hands-on activities and the exposure to female engineers, but they also earn a SWF patch and a T-shirt.

10th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup

Organization I Love a Clean San Diego

Creek to Bay Cleanup is a countywide event made possible by thousands of San Diego residents helping to beautify and restore our outdoor areas. ILACSD coordinates close to 70 cleanup sites throughout San Diego county from Cceanside to San Ysidro and Ocean Beach to El Cajon. All ages are welcome with a parent or guardian. High school students need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver. The event takes place all over San Diego County, please check our website for locations.

Life Sciences Summer Institute

Science Field Trip Day at PETCO Park

This unique educational experience takes science out of the classroom and makes learning fun. Activities include a “Fire and Ice”
show presented by the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center where students learn about the states of matter, combustion and liquid nitrogen in this visually thrilling program. Ecovivarium presents a show on natural science featuring all kinds of snakes and creepy crawlies. General Atomics puts on a show about physics. And most importantly, Padres player appearances with emphasis on the importance of education and
